Field Trip: The Old Red Museum

Well, today was the day! Field trip day, that is. And boy did we enjoy it!

Today's trip was all about transportation and the history of Dallas, Texas.
We got to do several hands on activities like a transportation arts and craft as well as a scavenger hunt!
Since so many of my kiddos never leave their neighborhood and get to experience very little cultural diversity, it was so amazing to see their eyes light up over something so many of us take for granted.
At the end of the day so many of my students said "This was the best day ever, Mrs. Jacobs!" and honestly, I couldn't have agreed more!

Welcome!

Welcome to second grade students and parents!

This school year is sure to be tons of fun. I cannot wait to get to know all my students and their families.

This year is so different as I've recently moved from high school to elementary. I know it's going to be a little tough but I am more than ready for the challenge.

This blog will be used to communicate with students and parents about what is coming up in the class as well as give parents a little peek at what we're doing in the classroom day to day. As a parent myself, I'm constantly wondering what my son is up to during the day at his school, so I'm happy to share with my student's parents what we will be doing in room 125.

I hope that you will use this blog to keep an eye on your student's activity in the classroom as well as a tool to see what is going on week to week in reading, math, science and social studies. I will also post reminders, spelling words, important dates and general information regarding classroom and school happenings.

Any questions? Please don't hesitate to call or e-mail me!

Let the fun begin!
